Delivered in a 7.5-litre pot, this container-grown tree is suitable for planting year-round, provided the ground is not frozen or waterlogged.
Choose a position in full sun to light shade for best foliage colour
Plant in any well-drained soil – tolerant of clay, loam, or sandy conditions
Dig a hole twice the width of the pot and just as deep
Remove the tree from the pot, tease out roots if needed, and plant so the base is level with the soil
Backfill with soil, firm gently, and water in well
Stake young trees if planting in exposed locations
Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds (avoid touching the trunk)
