Berberis Red Pillar is a striking formal variety of this wonderful garden shrub, has a column-forming upright growth habit with spiked stems, full of lush deep purple-red leaves. Flowers in mid-summer followed by small berries. This variety of Berberis is also good on poor soils, and will do well in most sites other than very wet and full shade, can grow to approximately 5-6ft tall, but only 2-3ft wide.
