Photinia Red Robin, a stunning well known evergreen shrub or small tree which has stunning glossy green and young red leaves all year round and makes the perfect hedging tree for those who want some colour, providing interest through every season, the new foliage being a deep glossy red colour and delicate white flowers. Can be grown in any garden in full sun or shade in any well drained soil types, the only exception being waterlogged areas, but do extremely well in raised sleeper beds for a more formal urban style look, a gorgeous colourful hedging plant which will grow upto 30cm of growth per year.

What is a rootball tree?
A rootball tree is a field grown plant which has been grown for several years to grow into an extra large and established bush or tree, perfect for those who want instant effect gardening. Dug directly from the field with the roots and soil left perfectly intact, the “rootball” is then wrapped in a biodegradable hessian sack. Simply plant the tree with the sack left on the rootball, water regularly for the first year, for a beautiful instant hedge, a true investment for your garden.
How far apart should they be planted?
There is no hard rule for planting distances, however, we suggest planting 1 or 2 trees per meter for an instant effect hedge, the closer you plant, the quicker you will establish your hedge, it's that simple. But if you dont mind waiting a little longer for them to grow into each other, planting a little further apart will be just fine.

We don't believe in digging in bulk and storing out of the ground, this can lead to damage, drying out and eventually failure in your garden, risking a waste of time and money.
