Thuja plicata ‘Gelderland’, commonly known as Western Red Cedar, is a superb fast-growing evergreen for creating tall, dense and attractive garden screening. This pack contains 12 XL approximately 4–5ft tall established trees, each supplied in a 3 litre pot, providing excellent immediate height and a substantial head start when creating a new hedge or privacy screen.
‘Gelderland’ develops masses of attractive rich green evergreen foliage, forming a dense screen that provides colour, structure and privacy throughout the year. Western Red Cedar responds extremely well to regular trimming and can be maintained as a smart formal hedge or allowed to develop into a taller evergreen screen.
At approximately 4–5ft tall when supplied, these XL trees provide considerably faster results than smaller starter plants. We recommend planting approximately 1–2 trees per metre, depending on the initial density required. This pack of 12 can therefore cover approximately 6–12 metres of evergreen hedging.
