Magnolias generally perform best in a sunny or partially shaded, sheltered position with fertile, moist but well-drained soil.
Prepare a generous planting hole and position each root ball at approximately the same depth as it has been growing in its pot. Firm gently and water thoroughly after planting.
Keep regularly watered throughout the first growing season while the plants establish. Applying an organic mulch around the base will help conserve moisture and improve the surrounding soil.
