Product Description

Lord Derby Apple Fruit Tree – MM106 Rootstock – Large 5–6ft Tall in a 7.5 Litre Pot – Traditional Cooking Apple – By Direct Plants

Grow one of Britain's finest traditional cooking apples with the superb Lord Derby Apple Tree, supplied here as a premium large specimen approximately 5–6ft tall in a 7.5 litre pot, professionally grafted onto MM106 semi-vigorous rootstock by Direct Plants. Carefully grown and selected at our award-winning family nursery in Norfolk, this outstanding fruit tree is renowned for producing heavy crops of large, high-quality cooking apples with excellent flavour and outstanding storage qualities.

Lord Derby is a classic heritage cooking apple, producing large green fruits with an attractive red flush where exposed to the sun. The firm, creamy-white flesh cooks beautifully, making it ideal for pies, crumbles, sauces, baking, freezing, and preserving. The fruits store exceptionally well, allowing you to enjoy homegrown cooking apples well into the winter months.

Grafted onto MM106 semi-vigorous rootstock, this variety develops into a strong, productive medium-sized tree, making it perfect for larger gardens, orchards, and productive landscapes. It offers vigorous growth, reliable cropping, and long-term performance while remaining easier to manage than traditional full-sized orchard trees.

During spring, the branches become covered in masses of fragrant white blossom lightly flushed with pink, attracting bees and beneficial pollinators. By autumn, generous crops of premium cooking apples are ready to harvest.

Supplied as a strong, healthy, well-established specimen in a large 7.5 litre pot, this premium fruit tree provides instant impact and excellent establishment potential.
