Plum ‘Opal’ is one of the most popular early-ripening dessert plum varieties, admired for its beautiful white spring blossom, followed by delicious reddish-purple plums with golden-yellow flesh during summer. Please note: Opal Plum is deciduous, naturally losing its foliage during autumn and winter. Trees may arrive without leaves during the dormant season. Flowering and fruiting are seasonal and cannot be guaranteed at the time of dispatch. Trees are supplied approximately 3–4ft tall with a clear stem of around 2ft, although branching, shape and fullness will naturally vary. For best results, grow in a large, well-drained patio container in a sunny, sheltered position, water regularly during the growing season and prune during summer as required to maintain the desired miniature patio shape. Fruit production and eventual tree size will depend on growing conditions, rootstock and ongoing care.
